Holiday Hair Clips, yes!

Hi everyone! I’ve been keeping myself busy (with my kids & teaching) and… designing some fabulous clips for the coming holidays! Woo hoo! I’ll be adding the products soon. Some of the new designs are: Sweet Pumpkin toddler/girl clip & baby snap clip, a sparkly sequined pumpkin on a chocolate grosgrain ribbon…. perfect for Halloween or Thanksgiving. Candy Corn Kisses toddler/girl clip, two sequined candy corn on a yellow grosgrain ribbon… so cute! Snow White toddler/girl clip, a dark red velvet flower with svarovski crystal in the center. It’s amazing!! It looks so real. Snow White will also be available as a baby headband. This design just screams WINTER, but in a very dainty way. lol

Check back often. =D

Kids Party Ideas

Hi everyone! I wanted to start blogging about some kid party ideas that could be useful to someone out there. =D I LOVE to plan parties and most of all decorate them! My girlfriends have dubbed me the “Martha Stewart of Kendall”. Kendall is a little suburb in Miami, LOL! But I digress…

My DD just turned 1 in August and we did a “Ladybug” themed party. For the centerpieces, I found an image of a ladybug that I liked and sent it to this FABULOUS artist named Liza. She makes styrofoam centerpieces out of any image you send her. She’s on Ebay… KIDS-WILL-LOVE-EM is the name of her store. So, I got the styrofoam ladybug and attached it to a wooden dowel & painted the dowel black. For the base, I used terra-cotta pots. I used those green styrofoam blocks (you know, the ones used for flower arranging?) to hold the dowel in the pot. I painted the pot in red using acrylic paint, then used sparkle mod podge to give it that glossy & glittery effect. I then used green tissue to fill the base & added ribbon around the top of the pot for that extra oomph! Tah-dah!!! So easy… and semi-homemade!!! WOO HOO!!

I also did the same semi-homemade centerpieces for my DS’s birthday last year. The theme was Little Einsteins … and of Mickey Mouse the year before. I’ll post those pics too!

PS. I also made the cutest Ladybug Hair Clip For my DD. It’s not like the one I have in the store. It’s made of felt. Let me know if you’re interested & I can whip one up for you. =D

"Miami Mama"s Love Tiny Bowtique

We just found this great review from a Miami-Mama on the Nest’s Baby Site we met at the Day Out with Thomas in Miami

RAVE: PRETTY BOWS FOR DD
From: Miami-Mama

for those of you who’s DD has tons oh hair (like mine) or maybe if you don’t like the headbands all that much, check out this site: www.tinybowtique.com

They have the cutest little bows, and they are so soft you can even put them on the smallest of babies. Plus! They are all handmade by a mom!

Quick story on how I found them:

I was at the “Day out with Thomas” with DS while still pregnant with DD and couldn’t help but notice the little girl with the cutes little strawberry clip in her hair. It was sooo cute I had to ask her mom where she got it. Well, it turns out she makes all these very cute hair clips herself. She started after having her DD and not finding anything she liked. So she made some and turn out everyone would ask her where she got them (like me) so she decided to start her own web-site… Or that is at least the story she told me ;)

We just stopped by one of our favorite stores this weekend, Williams-Sonoma. We found this amazing product that steams and purees veggies all-in-one compact appliance. This would be a great solution for all you Deceptively Delicious cooks out there.
